BOOK OF THE WEEK
Last week I read this very short book. I only suggest you read it, if you really like gin.
Regarding gin, unlike years ago in the USA, today there are a lot of mid and high price gins that taste so much better. If you do have a drink once in a while, you may want to consider gin.

I first read this book back in 1998 and I have reviewed it a couple of times since including last week and still find it a worthwhile read.

Switching gears, I finished almost 500 page book last week. Normally, I can’t make it through a book with this many pages, but this one was a bit of a treat to read. If you enjoyed The Godfather movies, The Sopranos, etc.; you might enjoy this book.

Last week I mentioned that I had finished watching Season 1 and I have now finished Season 2 and 3 of the Amazon Prime Video The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

I’ve watch all seven seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer years ago. While on the treadmill, I started watching the series again and just finished Season 1. I found watching the show was just as interesting as years ago.

I attended a DSO concert last Thursday at Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Among the music played was Georges Bizet’s Suite No. 1 from Carmen. If you think classical music is boring, listen to this. However, listening to it is nothing like seeing it performed live with Mei-Ann Chen conducting.

When I first wrote my book, I’m Tired of Being Ordinary, Are You?; I was shocked at how many people told me that they just wanted to be ordinary. But, I feel it is their right to that decision, plus for a few it could be a significant advancement.

“Les Toreadors” brought back memories! My parents had a recording of Carmen, and I listened to it a lot when I was a kid. And of course my dad had to add his bit: Toreador-a, don’t spit on the floor-a, use a cuspidor-a, that’s was it’s for-a.

I love Buffy! That was my favourite show when I was a(n early) teen. Perfect combination of humor and horror if you ask me.
And that doggy is too darn cute.

Thank you very much Samantha. I was so sorry to see Buffy end after seven seasons. I was hoping to follow the adventures of Buffy from high school to nursing home 🙂
