BOOK OF THE WEEK

The Illustrated Tao Te Ching

Calligraphy by Kwok-Lap Chan

MOVIE, PLAY OR TV SHOW OF THE WEEK

If you can’t watch a film with English subtitles, than this film isn’t for you. In fact, it isn’t for everyone. It has probably been at least ten years since I’ve watched it and I just watched it again the other day. I wasn’t disappointed.

The Seventh Seal

Returning exhausted from the Crusades to find medieval Sweden gripped by the Plague, a knight (Max von Sydow) suddenly comes face-to-face with the hooded figure of Death, and challenges him to a game of chess. As the fateful game progresses, and the knight and his squire encounter a gallery of outcasts from a society in despair, Bergman mounts a profound inquiry into the nature of faith and the torment of mortality. One of the most influential films of its time, The Seventh Seal is a stunning allegory of man’s search for meaning and a work of stark visual poetry. MUSIC OF THE WEEK

I’m sorry if I am turning any of you off with this presidential campaign speech, but since so many are posting political messages I thought why not.

    • Luther Vandross did “Never Too Much” and Barry White did “Never, Never Gonna Give you Up. But Rick Astley did the chart topping song in 25 different countries and the song is the basis for his 2020 Presidential bid. Prior to this year’s Presidential election, the song was the basis for his try at becoming Prime Minister of G.B. Thank you for commenting and you have some fantastic posts. I look forward to seeing them, but I find I don’t know how to comment on them. Probably something I am doing wrong. Comment or no comment, I like your posts
