Character Traits

I have set some world powerlifting records and have received some best deadlifter awards.

But I am most proud of my 3rd place in the Open (age not a factor) deadlift at the 2026 AWPC Championships.

I also think that what’s wrong with all of us

Getting Rid of Clutter

Consider getting rid of duplicate or blurry photos, the unused coupons that accumulate in kitchen drawers, bank statements and other such items that are available on-line, as well as old newspapers and magazines. Try taking a photo of items that hold memories but are not being used and many documents can be scanned and discarded.

Here is something I heard about who should NOT write self-help books.

Failures, because all they can tell you is don’t do this or don’t do that. 

Wildly successful people because their success results in little advice for ordinary people.

Uncle Tony was not a failure nor was he wildly successful.

Advice regular people can use.

Each of the 99 topics in this book ends with a funny Uncle Tony story or joke.

At the end of Topic 12: Budgets

Although Uncle Tony was not fond of the typical corporate budget process, he did tell me there was one time when he found it useful.

 

I said, “Knowing how much you dislike the corporate budget process, I want to hear how you found it useful?”

 

Uncle Tony said, “Well, one time at work, my wife appears unexpectedly and walks into my office, which was awkward.”

 

I said, “How so?”

 

“Well, my secretary was sitting on my lap and I was talking on the phone when my wife walked in.”

 

I asked, “So, what did you do?”

 

Uncle Tony replied, “I said into the phone, I don’t care about these budget cuts, I cannot continue to run this office with only one chair.”
