BOOK OF THE WEEK
Powerlifting Over 50
by Richard Schuller
You do not have to be weak when you are old, I know a number of world powerlifting champions, who are over 60 and some over 70.
Besides for exercise and eating advice, this book has some good solid advice about life in general.
For instance, the author says we all know people who are always extremely busy, and yet they never seem to get anywhere. It is more like they are too busy to do anything important.
And of course, if you are a powerlifter, you will definitely want to read this book.
MOVIES OF THE WEEK
I saw this movie and knew I had to go to Barcelona. I’ve been twice, since I’ve seen this movie. I hope this film or another film will create a desire in you for adventure.
Vicky Christina Barcelona
Vicky and Cristina, these two young Americans spend a summer in Spain and meet a flamboyant artist and his beautiful but insane ex-wife. Vicky is straight-laced and about to be married. Cristina is a sexually adventurous free spirit. When they all become amorously entangled, both comedic and harrowing results ensue. (Source: Rotten Tomatoes)
MUSIC OF THE WEEK
I’ve always liked this version of When You Say Nothing at All by Alison Krauss, whose version was her first solo top-10 country hit in 1995

I wish I lived closer to Michigan to be able to attend! In the meantime, let’s dance with Christopher Walken 😉

The Christopher Walken video sure was extraordinary! I’ve always like him.
I will also check out the Barcelona movie. It’s funny you put the Alison Krauss song on here. I have always loved her voice especially that song. I used to sing that one in karaoke. Ofcoarse couldn’t compare to A K. Lol

Glad you liked the Christopher Walken video Darlene, I always get a kick out of it no matter how many times I have seen it. I think you may really like the Barcelona movie. Thanks again for commenting.

I grew up with Ronan Keating’s version of When You Say Nothing At All. I liked this one but I prefer his voice 🙂 (maybe it’s because he’s Irish and I am a sucker for anything Irish).
Loved the jokes, though. And I know it’s some time away, but I hope you’ll have a great time at Books & Authors 🙂

Thanks very much Samantha for commenting. Do they celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Holland? It is a big deal here. Also, thank you for the Books & Authors wishes. As for the song of the week, I’ll try another one next week 🙂

Nope, they don’t have St. Patrick’s day here. We do all other kinds of crazy stuff, though :p

That writer’s event sounds great! Wish I could go! Also, ah, Sagrada Familia. You’re bringing back nice honeymoon memories. I loved the play of light as it came through the stained glass. Though I have to admit I preferred gazing around in admiration than listening to our tour guide. I kind of zoned out halfway through his explanation. I did like all the details on the front facade, though (which, it turns out, was actually intended to be a side).

Yes, I remember your honeymoon with included Barcelona. I thought Sagrada Familia was one of if not the most amazing human creations. I would like to go back and just spend a day sitting inside that building. Thank you very much Chris for commenting.

Expressing gratitude makes us happier — especially if we are the ones doing the expressing. We should do it more.
