Letters from a Stoic

Although  born in 4 B.C. and sentence to death by three Roman emperors (Caligula, Claudius, and Nero–who succeeded), his thoughts are still  relevant today. 

For several years of his turbulent life, Seneca was the guiding hand of the Roman Empire.

MOVIE OF THE WEEK

I re-watched this film last week and enjoyed it. I believe the last time I saw this film was in 1964 at Fort Knox, Ky. I had just turned 18 and was in the Army. Before long, the world, The Beatles, and I would be much different.

The film was a financial and critical success and was nominated for two Academy Awards including Best Original Screenplay. Forty years after its release, Time magazine rated it as one of the 100 all-time great films.
