Question Mark and the Mysterians  are an American garage rock band from Bay City and Saginaw in Michigan, initially active between 1962 and 1969.

Their name was inspired by the 1957 Japanese science fiction film The Mysterians. Question Mark was an eccentric figure, publicly stating that his soul had originated from Mars and that he once walked on Earth with the dinosaurs.

Question Mark and the Mysterians one of the earliest groups whose musical style is described as punk rock. Their music and imagery were highly influential on later bands.

The band in 1966 released its first and most acclaimed single, “96 Tears”, which became a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and propelled the group to a 15-month period of national prominence.

 Question Mark and the Mysterians were unable to replicate that success with their later recordings, they did reach the singles charts on four occasions.

They disbanded in 1969, but have regrouped and released additional material over the years.

“96 Tears” was listed at number 210 on the 2004 Rolling Stone list The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Letters from a Stoic

By Seneca

This readable version of Seneca’s writings contains some worthwhile advice.

Born in 4 B.C. and sentence to death by three Roman emperors (Caligula, Claudius, and Nero–who succeeded), his thoughts are still  relevant today. 

For several years of his turbulent life, Seneca was the guiding hand of the Roman Empire.

His inspired reasoning is derived mainly from Stoic principles.

Like many of you, I have lived long enough to know that when someone says we will get together sometime in the future; that sometime may become an impossibility. 

As an author, like many of you; I have heard so many people say they want to or are going to write a book–it often never happens because they are waiting for the right time.

I lived in Iran for almost 1 1/2 years. One of my Iranian friends recommended I read this book. If you have an interest in the Middle East, I think you will appreciate this book.

By focusing on these virtues and accepting what we cannot change, Stoics aim to achieve happiness.
