01/29/23 – No Limits On What You Can Accomplish

No Limits On What You Can Accomplish

I used to always do this when I had to study for an exam.

BOOK OF THE WEEK

This is another easy to read book that should challenge some of your beliefs.

The 15-Minute Philosopher

By Anne Rooney

The 15-Minute Philosopher introduces the reader to the main ideas of philosophy, showing how the subject has a clear practical purpose vital to our day-to-day lives and thinking. The subjects discussed here have been chosen to show that philosophy is by no means arid and academic, but rather that it’s useful, fun, and necessary in getting to grips with the issues thrown up by daily life. In Q&A format, this book explains the philosophical arguments around such questions as Should I eat meat? Does God exist? Is capital punishment wrong? (Source: Amazon)

MOVIE OF THE WEEK

This film received mixed reviews, but I thought it was worth watching.

World Famous Chef Ronaldo.

Here is a photo the some fish tacos that Chef Ronaldo made

EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE  OF THE WEEK

No one is more extraordinary, than one’s friends; here are two long-time friends of mine.

PHYSICAL TRAITS

You Can Be

CHARACTER TRAITS

Below is a challenging question,

or for some of us,

a painful question.

SOCIAL TRAITS

However, if you are consistently hearing you are doing something wrong or inappropriate, don’t take the above as a license to ignore what people are telling you.

LEARNING TRAITS

It seems our educational system has failed, when you simply accept things, without some collaborating support.

MISCELLANEOUS

January is about over, how are you doing making 2023 a great year?

  1. I watched the trailer of “You People.” That actually looks pretty hilarious! I love Jonah Hill to begin with. Did you ever see This Is the End? But it’s nice to see Mr. Murphy again, too!

    • I would say “You People” is only half-comedy; although, who ever made the trailer did excellent work. As for “This is the End”. I could not recall if I had or had not seen it (I watch a lot of films). I looked at the trailer and remembered that I had seen the film. A lot of excellent actors in that film. Thank you Stacey for commenting.

      • You’re welcome.
I mean, admittedly, This is the End is 14-year-old teenage boy humor. But I couldn’t stop laughing. Maybe I’m a 14-year-old boy inside?
Interesting to know that they cut the You People trailer as a comedy, but it’s only half-comedy. Like they thought the comedy angle would be better for reeling people in? But I would see it, regardless.
