I totally agree with the quote from Simone Weil. To put away a cell phone, make eye contact, and listen with full attention to another person (no matter their stature) is a way of loving and respecting a fellow human being.

Thank you Priscilla for commenting. I totally agree with you. I know so many people and when you go out to lunch or dinner with them, the first thing they do is plop their cell phones on the table. I feel it is a bit rude, unless there are special circumstances requiring them to do so.

Hello, I have established going out boundaries. If you need to pay more attending to the cell phone while spending time with me then don’t bother. And that goes for dating. My youngest brother gave me a tip, He said, when your out on a date and the man puts his cell phone on the table, he said I should leave.
