Don’t Complicate Life
BOOK OF THE WEEK
A World Lit Only By Fire
By William Manchester
This book will be an eye-opener to many of you.
MOVIE OF THE WEEK
Better than most Hallmark type films, if you are looking for some lighthearted diversion. Plus, I needed a break from Suits (I’m in Season 7 of that series).
Irish Wish (2024)
Irish Wish is a fantasy romantic comedy film, starring Lindsay Lohan.
MUSIC OF THE WEEK
What A Wonderful World
By Louis Armstrong
EXTRAORDINARY PERSON OF THE WEEK
Obviously, this book would never have been possible without Uncle Tony.
There were four other people who also made this book possible.
Each week I plan to introduce one of them. In alphabetical order, the first is:
Carol Allen
My wife of many years, who reviewed every page of this book a number of times. She is a retired school teacher and world-renowned gin and tonic mixer.
ART OF THE WEEK
When people say you should expose yourself to art,
I don’t think this is what they meant.
JOKE OF THE WEEK
PHYSICAL TRAITS
One could argue that running a marathon (26.2 miles) is about something other than health.
I’ve actually ran (some walking was also involved) three of them myself back in the 1980s.
But that is no reason many of you cannot participate in a 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk this year, if you start training for it.
CHARACTER TRAITS
Life is much easier, if you maintain a positive outlook.
SOCIAL TRAITS
And if you don’t think so

Are You?

The Kindle version of this book is free, and the paperback version is $10
However, I must warn you that this book will not change your life, only you can do that.

I always enjoy reading your posts, Bill! I giggle, nod, and learn something new. You choose perfect memes that bring the messages “home”! Do you have Apple TV? I watched “Masters of the Air”~about the 100th bomber squadron in WWII and how they “cleared” the air over the Pacific leading up to D~Day (and such catastrophic loss!).
Your wife is lovely and how awesome to have an editor in house! Life really is about choices. I hope you are doing well! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you Karla and always good to hear from you. Due to my Comcast/Xfinity wars, I have antennas, Apple TV, and Roku devices, but no more cable TV (smile). Things are going well, thank you for your good wishes. Bill

It’s my pleasure, dear friend. Since my 4 years in my RV, I’ve been like you–only antennas and streaming. I have MORE than I could ever watch anyway! I’m so glad to know you are well. I’m praying for upcoming procedures and daily strength as you keep on crushing life!

A World Lit Only by Fire sounds interesting. Haha, that UPS “ad”! I’ve run one Marathon. It was fun.

As always Priscilla, thank you for commenting and good to hear from you. I suspect you will really enjoy that book. You must be a very good runner as I found absolutely noting fun in running a marathon. I ran one in 1981, 1984 and the last one in 1987. Each time, it took me three years before being willing to do another. Later I dropped down to half-marathons, even doing on in Edinburgh. Now, I am struggling to keep doing a 5Ks–those I find are actually fun. Again Priscilla, thank you for your comment. I look forward to them each week.
