The maneki-neko (‘beckoning cat‘) is a common Japanese figurine which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner. In modern times, they are usually made of ceramic or plastic. The figurine depicts a cat, traditionally a calico Japanese Bobtail, with a paw raised in a beckoning gesture.

This week we watched The Man Who Knew too Much with Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day (with her beautiful, bell-like voice). It was good!

I’m glad you liked the jokes and thank you for letting me know. I get them from a variety of people and I pick out the ones that either go with the theme of the post or contain a bit of a message delivered with humor.
