What the Heck
Book of the Week
The title of this book may say Rules for Aging, but it is really for people who have a lot of life left to live and wish to live it peacefully and with a degree of elegance.
It is a very short, enjoyable and easy to read book that will benefit you, if you take Roger’s message to heart.
Rules for Aging
By Roger Rosenblatt
Movie of the Week
This film and the character played by Steve Martin, always reminds me of my friend Mike.
He was one of the most fun people I have ever encountered. We were friends in high school. I went into the Army after high school (1964) and Mike went into the Navy. The world was a much different place when we got out of the service and we hung out together in the late 1960 and early 1970s. It was an interesting time and we did a lot of interesting things.

Additional Info
The title “APT.” is an abbreviation for Apartment.
Extraordinary Person of the Week
Francoise Hardy
As a public figure, Hardy was known for her shyness, disenchantment with celebrity life, and self-deprecatory attitude, which were attributed to her lifelong struggles with anxiety and insecurity.
Hardy remains one of the best-selling singers in French history and continues to be regarded as an important and influential figure in both French pop music and fashion. In 2006 she was awarded the Grande médaille de la chanson française, an honorary award given by the Académie française, in recognition of her career in music.
Hardy died of cancer in Paris in June 2024, aged 80. (Source: Wikipedia)

My Blue Heaven is a great movie. Rules for Aging sounds like a witty read; thanks for the rec. This week I saw The Fall Guy (2024). I immediately recognized Lee Majors and Heather Thomas in their cameos, but I didn’t recognize Jason Momoa (because I’m not up on all the cool Aquaman movies). The cameos are hilarious. Fun movie.

Thanks for all the information, as usual!
My two favorite jokes are one after the other: The cat wearing the pope slipper
and the women talking about the husband they sleep with. LOL I guffawed. Thanks!
