Books of the Week

The Scotch-Irish: A Social History

By James G. Leyburn

This is probably only of interest, if you are Scotch-Irish.

Movie of the Week

I’ve seen all of Seasons 1 and 2 of this series and all episodes of Season 3 that have been released. I prefer Seasons 1 and 2 to Season 3.

I only started watching this series because of The Black Lotus, which does an excellent job of summarizing seasons 1 and 2.

    • Yes, same situation. I think the low land Scots who moved to Ireland adapted considerably to the existing Irish culture. I book I mentioned in the blog post speaks about that process.
