04/06/25 – Busy?

Current Events

Busy?

The Chinese character 忙 means busy. This character combines the symbols for “heart” on the left and “perish” on the right.

One can take that to mean that when one is excessively busy, their heart is dead.

The above is how you should be busy, at least once a week.

Book of the Week

This book is categorized as a classic of Jewish spirituality. With that said, I think this book has a lot to say to those of you who spend much of your time simply rushing around, or spending much of your time acquiring things, organizing your things or trying to get rid of the things they have acquired.

Movie of the Week

Wolf Hall is an excellent British television series,

and can be viewed on PBS.

Series 2: The Mirror and the Light (2024)

The six-part first series was initially broadcast on BBC in January 2015. It documented the rapid rise to power of Thomas Cromwell in the court of Henry VIII, through the death of Sir Thomas More, to Cromwell’s success in freeing the king of his marriage to Anne Boleyn. Series 2 picks up after Anne’s execution, following Cromwell’s continued rise and Henry’s marriage to his third and fourth queens, Jane Seymour and Anne of Cleves, the latter of which will ultimately lead to Cromwell’s fall from power.

  1. A forty-minute flute solo … that’s so true to life that it’s hard to laugh at that meme!

I think if you spend a lot of time organizing all the stuff you have, in the end you still have a lot of stuff. It’s just organized (and probably collecting dust).

    Great post, Wm!

    • Thank for commenting Priscilla. As for the flute solo, there is always some truth behind humor. As for stuff, I think all the self-storage facilities you see, is an indication of what a materialistic society we live in and that our stuff really owns us. It seems so often, less is actually more.

  2. Interesting! That Chinese characters of busy and being busy could be heart is dead. Brilliant thoughts. I also like the idea of doing nothing is an art. In life balance, there are times that we need to rest and empty ourselves.

    Nice post Mr. Wm.

I have come to an idea of ‘Wu Wie’ , any thoughts about it? 🙂

    Thanks

    • Thank you Misae for you comment about Chinese characters. My website and LLC is Harmony Books & Films, LLC. I use the Chinese symbol for Harmony. A Chinese person I met, told me the symbol on the left was an open mouth–hence Harmony. I just took their word for it. So, i think there is a lot behind Chinese symbols.

As for your question to me, I think “Wu Wie” is the correct path one should follow in life. In short, just going with the flow. It seems if one tries too hard, they become the opposite. I’m a powerlifter, but I have found when I tried too hard, I would hurt myself and become weak or the exact opposite of the strength I wanted to achieve.

I hope I correctly understood your question and provided a reasonable answer. Again, thank you very much Misae for commenting.

      • Mr Wm, thank you so much, such great thoughts you’ve shared to me. I really appreciate it.

You have a great site and ideas. It is sometimes a challenge for me to understand such brilliant posts. From my humble mind but It’s learning. 😊

Yeah, Chinese characters (calligraphy) are interesting. Been in Chinese group here, I appreciate how they value their arts & culture.

Thanks Mr Wm, appreciate your reply for Wu Wie. I can relate too. In my case, as from the life season I’ve been through, I can say yes, sometimes we go with the flow.

Thank you and bless you more.
