Alcohol and the lottery… I don’t do either because yeah, they can destroy your life. (I used to drink a little, but the older I got, the worse I felt the next day, even after only one drink. I’d rather wake up rarin’ to go!) Anyway, I know someone whose father won the lottery. He had a chance to save and invest, but he was completely broke in only a year. Ugh!

Thank you very much Vera for commenting. I understand that has happened to many lottery winners.

Always so much to pick from! “You’ve changed.” “We’re supposed to.”
lol
And I DO think the dogs at the top of the page are VERY accurate. The pug might be substituted sometimes for the actual employee, too, not just the intern, because that’s exactly how I’ve felt the past five or six years.
Also love that beautiful painting in Art of the Week.
Thank you!

Thank you very much for your comments. I found that “You’ve changed” meaningful. I recall a few friends from my youth being a bit critical of me for changing. They thought I had grown old, while they were still doing the things of our youth. I could see their point, but I thought year after year you are doing the same old stuff–I’m not sure which of us has grown old. Those dogs were clever. As for the painting of the week, most of us have experienced that. Again, thank you very much for you comments–I appreciate them.

You’re so welcome.
“You’ve changed” IS meaningful, though, isn’t it? Hardly changing from a 25-year-old mentality one’s entire life would be like being a vampire, wouldn’t it? I mean, life is basically as meaningful as it is because death is at the end of it. And there’s also a difference between maturing and “growing old.” I feel like someone who can’t tell there’s a huge chasm between the two is not anyone I would want to take any serious advice from, lol.
