Thank you Crystal. There are a lot of us who are Scotch-Irish. When I was in Scotland, they spelled Allen with an A as in Allan. When I was in Ireland, they spelled Allen like I do.

Something like me in Scotland my last name is spelled Stuart but in Ireland it’s spelled Stewart like I spell my last name

Yes, same situation. I think the low land Scots who moved to Ireland adapted considerably to the existing Irish culture. I book I mentioned in the blog post speaks about that process.
